Armenian Cities Receive Guidance on Accessing Climate Finance Through Gap Fund

On 8 May 2025, Armenian municipalities participated in the dedicated webinar “The Gap Fund: Supporting Armenian Municipalities Towards Climate Finance”. Organized by the GCoM-Gap Fund Partnership team, the event brought together municipal representatives, urban planners, and DRR practitioners from across Armenia to walk them through the ways they can access technical assistance for low-carbon, climate-resilient urban development.

The Gap Fund team outlined the application process, shared guidance on the types of support available, and provided examples of how the Fund can help cities advance from climate planning to project implementation. As part of the session, a representative from the City of Podgorica, Montenegro, shared the city’s experience with the Gap Fund, offering insights into preparing effective proposals and working with technical experts.

The webinar was held in cooperation with the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR), Covenant of Mayors – Eastern Partnership, and the National Platform for DRR in Armenia (ARNAP Foundation). Find out more here.
