Waste glass and CO2 into low-carbon cement
Carbon Upcycling Technologies
The problem our industries face today is waste. Waste in the form of carbon emissions and industrial byproducts. But what if this waste was transformed into a resource? With our partners at Cemex UK, we will be installing our CUT-Reactor technology at their Rugby, UK cement plant to upcycle carbon emissions and local waste glass into low-carbon cement replacements. The project is a two-pronged approach to sustainability, enabling circularity while capturing carbon. The resulting cement material will then have a lower-carbon footprint than if it was produced traditionally. Through this cross-industry collaboration, Cemex Rugby’s plant will progress its net-zero initiatives and bolster its supply of low-carbon cement for the built environment. Our team is looking for off-take partners to champion low-carbon cement in their concrete infrastructure and assist in ushering in the next age of low-carbon building materials.
