Urban groundwater management in water scarce areas
Bentley Systems
Groundwater accounts for around 30% of the world's freshwater, making it an important resource for addressing current global issues, such as world population growth – a critical challenge for cities. However, climate change and the intensive use of groundwater for human activities may put at risk not only the integrity of the aquifers but also the global amount of water that people can use. We advocate the usage of data-driven technologies for mapping groundwater & groundwater protection, identifying contamination issues including saltwater intrusion, and natural and managed aquifer recharge.
