BABLE was founded as a spin-off from the Fraunhofer Research Society with the vision of creating a digital knowledge exchange and community platform as a powerful tool for sharing Use Cases and other valuable information. In 2022, in partnership with the city of Stuttgart and funded by the Stuttgart Climate Innovation Fund, klima-community.de was launched to bring all citizens together in the fight against climate change. This is a platform where citizens can share climate hacks, as a part of the 2022 city-wide campaign #jetztklimachen to engage citizens to take climate action. By using BABLE's platform, as White Label for Community driven Climate Action, a central place for developing local solutions can co-exist alongside climate solutions from across Europe. Citizens can also apply for public subsidies on the platform, or sponsor or moderate content for specific topics, while companies can advertise their climate actions.
