Exploring urban climate finance in the NDCs

The Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy (GCOM) will collaborate with the UNESCO Chair on Urban Resilience at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU. Resilience) and the United Nations Human Settlement Programme (UN-Habitat) to develop research activities on urban climate finance, aiming at supporting informed decision making and at increasing the ambition of climate action through multilevel governance.

The research collaboration will include:

  • the mapping and analysis of urban climate finance needs in selected
    countries;
  • the mapping of current urban climate finance initiatives and tools;
  • the development of capacity-building initiatives on urban
    climate finance
