What happens to badges allocated by a former Compact of Mayors and Covenant of Mayors?

Progress previously made by signatories under the former Compact/Covenant initiatives is fully recognized by the new GCoM badging system (see FAQ 24). Where requirements for a specific badge have changed – for example the requirements for GHG emissions inventories or setting targets – cities are given sufficient time to comply with the new requirements while keeping the badge earned based on past requirements.
